Study Skills and Learning Strategies Needed by Students with Learning Disabilities in the Middle Schools from the Arabic Language Teachers Perspective in the City of Jeddah

هدفت الدراسة الحالية إلى التَّعرُّف على المهارات الدراسية واستراتيجيات التَّعلُّم التي يحتاجها الطلبة ذوي صعوبات التَّعلُّم في المرحلة المتوسطة، من منظور معلمي اللغة العربية في مدينة جدة، والتَّعرُّف على الفروق في تقدير المعلمين والمعلمات للمهارات الدراسية واستراتيجيات التَّعلُّم التي يحتاج الطلبة ذوو صعوبات التَّعلُّم في المرحلة المتوسطة إلى تعلمها؛ بناء على متغيّري: الجنس والمؤهل العلمي. ولتحقيق أهداف الدراسة؛ اُستخدم المنهج الوصفي المسحي، وطوّر الباحثان استبانة مكوّنة من (17) فقرة، مُقسّمة على بُعدين، البُعد الأول: (المهارات الدراسية)، واشتملت على (9) فقرات، أمّا البُعد الثاني (إستراتيجيات التَّعلُّم)، فاشتمل على (8) فقرات. وتألفت عينة الدراسة من (114) معلمًا ومعلمة للغة العربية، في الصفوف العامة التي يتواجد بها طلبة ذوو صعوبات التَّعلُّم. وأظهرت النتائج مستوى احتياج مرتفع للمهارات الدراسية للطلبة ذوي صعوبات التَّعلُّم في المرحلة المتوسطة، بمتوسط بلغ (3.185)، بينما جاء مستوى الاحتياج إلى إستراتيجيات التَّعلُّم عند الطلبة ذوي صعوبات التَّعلُّم في المرحلة المتوسطة مرتفعًا، بمتوسط بلغ (3.209)، ولم تُظهر نتائج الدراسة أي فروق ذات دلالة إحصائية تُعزى للمتغيّرات موضع الدراسة.

The current study aimed at identifying the study skills and learning strategies that middle school students with learning disabilities needed to learn from the perspective of Arabic language teachers in general education in the city of Jeddah. Also, the study attempt to identify the differences in teachers’ views when applying the study variables (gender and educational qualification). The descriptive survey approach was used to achieve the study goals. The researchers developed a questionnaire consisting of (17) items, divided into two dimensions, the first dimension: (study skills), and included (9) items, and the second dimension (learning strategies), which included (8) items. A sample of (114) male and female middle school Arabic language teachers teaching in general classes, including students with learning disabilities. The results showed that study skills were highly needed by students with learning disabilities in middle schools with an average of (3.185). The study also showed learning strategies highly needed by students with learning disabilities with an average of (3.209). The study did not show any statistically significant differences when applying the variables of the study.
