The Reality of Green Leadership Practices in Public Schools in Jeddah

هدفت الدراسة للتعرف على واقع ممارسة القيادة الخضراء في مدارس التعليم العام بمدينة جدة، والكشف عن وجود فروق مستوى هذه الممارسة في ضوء بعض المتغيرات الديمغرافية. وقد اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي المسحي، وتم جمع بياناتها باستخدام استبانة مكونة من خمسة محاور: السياسات والإجراءات الخضراء، والتوعية وبناء القدرات البيئية، والإدارة المستدام للموارد والمرافق، القيادة التحفيزية الخضراء، والشراكة البيئية المجتمعية. وطبقت الدراسة على عينة عشوائية طبقية مكونة من (398) فردًا من مديري ومعلمي مدارس البنين والبنات الحكومية في المراحل الثلاث بمدينة جدة. وقد أظهرت النتائج أن مستوى ممارسة القيادة الخضراء كان متوسطًا ككل، وكذلك في المحاور الخمسة. كما توصلت النتائج لوجود فروق دالة إحصائيًا في تقدير مستوى ممارسة القيادة الخضراء تعزى لاختلاف الجنس لصالح الذكور، ووجود فروق تعزى لاختلاف المرحلة التعليمية لصالح المرحلة الابتدائية، كما وجدت فروق تعزى لاختلاف عدد سنوات الخدمة لصالح ذوي الخدمة الأقل من 10 سنوات، بينما لم توجد فروق تعزى لاختلاف الوظيفة. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج، قدمت الدراسة بعض التوصيات، كان من أبرزها إصدار دليل إجرائي موحد للسياسات الخضراء بمدارس التعليم العام، وعقد شراكات بين وزارة التعليم ومؤسسات القطاع العام والخاص لتحويل المدارس لمدارس خضراء.

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the reality of green leadership practices in public schools in the city of Jeddah and to reveal differences in the level of these practices in light of certain demographic variables. The study followed a descriptive survey method, and data were collected using a questionnaire consisting of five dimensions: green policies and procedures, environmental awareness and capacity building, sustainable management of resources and facilities, motivational green leadership, and community environmental partnership. The study was applied to a stratified random sample of 398 individuals, including principals and teachers of public boys' and girls' schools across the three educational levels in the city of Jeddah. The results showed that the level of green leadership practices was average overall, as well as in the five dimensions. The results also showed statistically significant differences in the assessment of the level of green leadership practices attributable to gender differences in favor of males, and differences attributable to educational level in favor of the primary stage. Differences were also found based on years of service in favor of those with less than 10 years of experience, while no differences were found attributable to job position. In light of these results, the study made several recommendations, most notably issuing a unified procedural guide for green policies in public schools and establishing partnerships between the Ministry of Education and public and private sector institutions to transform schools into green schools.
