الإسهام النسبي لأنماط التعلق غير الآمن والتنظيم الانفعالي في التنبؤ بالعنف الزواجي لدى عينة من المتزوجين في مدينة جدة ومدينة القاهرة (دراسة عبر ثقافية)

The Relative Contribution of Insecure Attachment Styles and Emotional Regulation in Predicting Marital Violence Among a Sample of Married Individuals in Jeddah and Cairo

(A Cross-Cultural Study) 

المستخلص

هدفت الدراسة إلى الكشف عن أثر الجنسية والجنس والتفاعل بينهما على العنف الزواجي، والتنظيم الانفعالي، وأنماط التعلق، إضافة إلى إمكانية التنبؤ بالعنف الزواجي من خلال التنظيم الانفعالي وأنماط التعلق. اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي (التنبؤي والفارقي)، وطبقت على عينة قوامها (374) متزوجًا (247 من جدة، و127 من القاهرة)، باستخدام ثلاثة مقاييس هي: مقياس أنماط التعلق غير الآمن من إعداد أبو غزال وجرادات (2009) وتطوير أبو طه (2021)، ومقياس التنظيم الانفعالي من إعداد Gross and John (2003)  وتطوير البراهمة (2017)، ومقياس العنف الزواجي من إعداد عارف  (2019)، وأظهرت النتائج فروقًا دالة لصالح الزوجات في أبعاد العنف الاقتصادي والجنسي والبدني، وفروقًا لصالح المصريين في جميع أبعاد العنف الزواجي، مع تفاعل دال بين الجنس والجنسية في العنف البدني. 

وفي أنماط التعلق، ظهرت فروق دالة في التعلق الخائف لصالح المصريين، وفي التعلق القلق لصالح السعوديين، كما أظهرت العينة السعودية مستوى مرتفعًا من التنظيم الانفعالي مقارنة بالمصريين. كما كشفت نتائج الارتباط عن علاقة سلبية بين العنف الزواجي والتنظيم الانفعالي، وعلاقة إيجابية مع التعلق الخائف والتجنبي، باستثناء التجنبي لدى المصريين. كما أمكن التنبؤ بالعنف الزواجي بنسبة (13?) لدى السعوديين من خلال التنظيم الانفعالي والتعلق الخائف والتجنبي، وبنسبة (12?) لدى المصريين من خلال التعلق القلق فقط. وأوصت الدراسة بتضمين برامج التأهيل الزواجي أنشطة تستهدف أنماط التعلق غير الآمن ومهارات التنظيم الانفعالي.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the effects of nationality, gender, and their interaction on marital violence, emotion regulation, and attachment styles, as well as to explore the predictive power of emotion regulation and attachment styles for marital violence. The study employed a descriptive correlational design (predictive and comparative) and was conducted on a sample of 374 married individuals (247 from Jeddah and 127 from Cairo). Three instruments were used: the Insecure Attachment Styles Scale developed by Abu Ghazal and Jaradat (2009) and revised by Abu Taha (2021); the Emotion Regulation Scale developed by Gross and John (2003) and adapted by Al Barahmah (2017); and the Marital Violence Scale developed by Aref (2019).The findings revealed significant differences in favor of wives in economic, sexual, and physical violence, and in favor of Egyptians across all dimensions of marital violence, with a significant interaction between gender and nationality in physical violence. Regarding attachment styles, significant differences were found in fearful attachment in favor of Egyptians and in anxious attachment in favor of Saudis. Moreover, Saudi participants showed higher levels of emotion regulation compared to Egyptians. Correlational analyses indicated a negative relationship between marital violence and emotion regulation, and a positive relationship with fearful and avoidant attachment (except avoidant among Egyptians). Marital violence could be predicted by emotion regulation, fearful, and avoidant attachment among Saudis (13%), and by anxious attachment among Egyptians (12%). The study recommends incorporating activities targeting insecure attachment and emotion regulation skills into marital preparation programs.
