ناقش هذا البحث تـمثيلات الـهويَّة فـي رواية ما بعد
الكارثة من خلال قراءة نقديَّة مقارنة لروايـتـي: (فرانكشتاين فـي بغداد)؛ لأحـمد
سعداويّ، و(الطَّريق)؛ لكورماك مكارثي، إذ طرحت فرضيَّة ركَّــزت على أنَّ الكارثة
تُـفضي إلـى زعزعة الـمرجعـيَّات الأخلاقــيَّة والاجتماعـيَّة، ومن ثَـمَّ يسعى
الأدب إلـى إعادة طرح سؤال الـهويَّـة ضمن سياق وجوديّ وأخلاقيّ. ومن هُنا كشف البحث
أنَّ رواية (فرانكشتاين فـي بغداد) تُـقدِّم تصوُّرًا لـهويَّة جـماعـيَّة متشظِّـية؛
بسبب سرديَّـات أيدولوجـيَّة متصارعة، فـي حيـن رواية (الطَّريق) قدَّمت تصوُّرًا
لـهويَّـة فرديَّـة تتشكَّـل بالفعل الأخلاقيّ. من خلال منهج التحليل المقارن
استفادت
هذه الدّراسة من مدراس نقديَّة ما بعد حداثية فـي تـحليل الـهويَّـة، مستعينةً
بأدوات فلسفـيَّـة وتأويلـيَّة لـتفـكيك البنية السَّرديَّـة فـي أدب ما بعد
الكارثة؛ ونتيجةً لذلك كشفت الدّراسة عن أثر غياب الـزَّمن الـخـطِّــيّ، وتـحـوُّل
اللُّغة من وسيلة بلاغـيَّة جـمالـيَّة إلـى أداة وظيفـيَّة؛ مـمَّا جعل الـهويَّة
الشَّخصيَّة داخل الـنَّصّ مُـتشظِّــية. توصَّلت الدّراسة إلـى أنَّ رواية ما بعد
الكارثة لا تكتفـي بوصف انـهيار الـحضارة البشريَّـة، إنَّـما تكشف عن رؤية سرديَّة
تأويلـيَّة للذَّات الإنسانــيَّة عندما تواجه العدم. بالـتَّالـي أصبحت الـهويَّـة
فعلًا مُـؤقَّــتًا، وموقفًا أخلاقـيًّا يتجدَّد مع كُــلّ تـحدٍّ، ولكـنَّها
تفتقد الانتماء بكافَّـة أشكاله، وتفتقر للــوعي الـمُــتجذِّر بالسّياق الـحضاريّ.

Abstract:
This study examines the representation of identity in post-apocalyptic novel through a comparative analysis of Ahmed Saadawi’s Frankenstein in Baghdad and Cormac McCarthy’s The Road. It argues that catastrophic collapse destabilizes moral and social reference points, compelling literary writings to reimagine identity through existential and ethical frameworks. In Frankenstein in Baghdad, identity is depicted as a fractured collective construct, shaped by conflicting ideological narratives. In contrast, The Road portrays an individual identity formed through acts of moral perseverance.
Drawing on postmodern approaches, the study explores how these narratives disrupt linear temporality and reconfigure language from a rhetorical characteristic into a functional, existential medium. This stylistic and structural transformation reflects a deeper fragmentation of selfhood. Ultimately, the study contends that post-apocalyptic fiction does more than depict the end of civilization; it offers a philosophical inquiry into the nature of the human self. In such contexts, identity becomes a contingent, ethically sustained process—unanchored from fixed cultural or communal roots and continuously renegotiated in response to a destabilized world.
