?usn al-Takhallus (Beautiful Transition) in Ancient Arabic Poetry

A Pragmatic Approach

مستخلص:

تُعنى هذه الدراسة بمقاربة مواضع حسن التخلص في نماذج شعرية عربية في العصور الأدبية القديمة، وذلك من خلال فحصها بأدوات إجرائية تداولية تحاول تنزيلها في خطاب له سياق ومقاصد وأطراف خطابية. إن بغية هذه الدراسة وهدفها يتمثل في التنقيب عن الوظائف التداولية خلف شواهد حسن التخلص وفهم المقاصد في أقوالها حسب إطار نظرية أفعال الكلام العامة، وقد تأسست هذه المقاربة على مقولات المنهج التداولي وحاولت النظر من خلال مفاهيمه وأجهزته، وقد خلّف هذا الجهد مجموعة من النتائج أهمها: بروز وظيفتين تداوليتين في شواهد حسن التخلص، هما: إغواء المخالفة وإعلان التمكّن والحذق، وفي مبحث الأفعال الكلامية ظهر أن كثيرا من شواهد حسن التخلص تضمر مقاصد إخبارية وبوحية، وفي المبحث الأخير فحصت الدراسةُ صورتي ذات المتكلم وذات المخاطب من خلال تعقّب الإشاريات فيها، فأبرزتْ أحوالا مختلفة للشاعر مثل صورة العاجز المسكين في مقابل المخاطب البعيد المترفّع عن الناس والربيع الخصب لكثرة فضائله وما يرجى منه.

Abstract: 

This study is concerned with approaching the positions of ?usn al-Takhallus (beautiful transition) in selected Arabic poetry from ancient literary periods. It analyzes these instances using pragmatic tools that seek to contextualize them within a discourse framework, considering the situational context, communicative intent, and the interaction between the speaker and the audience. The aim of this study is to explore the pragmatic functions behind instances of ?usn al-Takhallu? and to understand the intended meanings within these expressions through the framework of general Speech Act Theory. This approach is grounded in the principles of pragmatics, utilizing its concepts and analytical tools. As a result of this effort, several key findings have emerged, the most important of which are: The study identifies two main pragmatic functions of ?usn al-takhallu?: the enticement of opposition and the declaration of mastery. It finds that many instances carry informative and expressive intents within Speech Act Theory. By analyzing deictic expressions, the study highlights varied poet portrayals, such as the helpless figure versus the distant addressee and the poet as a fertile spring of virtues.
