The Extent to which Learners of Arabic who Speak Other Languages at the Islamic University of Madinah Employed Pragmatic Deixis in their Writings

هدف البحث إلى التعرف على مدى توظيف متعلمي اللغة العربية الناطقين بلغات أخرى للإشاريات التداولية في كتاباتهم.

ولتحقيق هذا الهدف استخدم الباحث المنهج الوصفي التحليلي؛ لوصف مدى توظيف طلاب المستوى المتقدم في معهد تعليم اللغة العربية لغير الناطقين بها في الجامعة الإسلامية بالمدينة المنورة للإشاريات التداولية في كتاباتهم.

وخلصت أهم النتائج إلى أنَّ استخدام الإشاريات الشخصية، والزمانية، والمكانية في كتابات هؤلاء المتعلمين جاء بنسب متفاوتة حيث بلغت نسبة استخدام الإشاريات الشخصية (71.71%)، ونسبة الإشاريات الزمانية (20.09%)، ونسبة الإشاريات المكانية بلغت (8.18%).

وفي ضوء هذه النتائج قدَّم الباحث مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها: الاستفادة من قائمة الإشاريات التداولية المستخدمة في هذا البحث في تطوير مناهج تعليم اللغة العربية، وتدريب الطلاب على توظيفها في التواصل اللغوي، وتدريب معلمي اللغة العربية على كيفية توظيف هذه الإشاريات في تعليم اللغة العربية لغير الناطقين بها، كما اقترح الباحث بعضا من البحوث المستقبلية ذات العلاقة بالإشاريات التداولية في تعليم اللغة العربية للناطقين بلغات أخرى.

                                                                                                                      Abstract

The research aimed to identify the extent to which learners of Arabic who speak other languages employ Pragmatic Deixis in their writings.

To achieve this goal, the researcher used the descriptive analytical approach. To describe the extent to which advanced level students at the Institute for Teaching Arabic to Non-Native Speakers at the Islamic University of Madinah Al-Munawwarah employ metaphors in their writings.

The most important findings concluded that the use of personal, temporal, and spatial signs in the writings of these learners came in varying proportions, as the percentage of using Personal Deixis  was (71.71%), the percentage of Temporal Deixis  was (20.09%), and the percentage of Spatial Deixis  was (8.18 %).

In light of these findings, the researcher presented a set of recommendations, the most important of which are: making use of the list of Pragmatic Deixis used in this research in developing Arabic language teaching curricula, training students to employ them in linguistic communication, and training Arabic language teachers on how to employ these Pragmatic Deixis in teaching Arabic to non-native speakers. The researcher also suggested some future research related to Pragmatic Deixis in teaching Arabic to speakers of other languages.
