 in Sharh At-Tasheel by Ibn Maalik between the Objective of Seebawayh and the Understanding of Ibn Maalik

المستخلص

اهتمّ ابن مالك بآراء سيبويه كثيرًا في كتبه وخاصة في شرح التسهيل، وقد لفت انتباهي فهم ابن مالك نصوص سيبويه في بعض المسائل، وأنه كان يعارض بعض الذين سبقوه في عدم فهمهم نصوص الكتاب بصورة صحيحة، أو أنهم تقوَّلوا على سيبويه ما لم يقلْه، كما لفت انتباهي اختلاف فهم ابن مالك لبعض نصوص سيبويه عن السابقين أو اللاحقين، خصوصًا شراح الكتاب وشراح التسهيل.

ولذلك رغبت في تأمّل نصوص سيبويه التي أوردها ابن مالك، ثمّ دراستها دراسةً تحليليّة، معتمداً على نصوص سيبويه نفسه المتعدّدة للمسألة الواحدة، وعلى آراء شرّاح كتابه، وآراء شرّاح التسهيل؛ مجتهداً ما استطعتُ في تبيّن قصد سيبويه، وتبيّن فهم ابن مالكٍ له، وجعلت معتمد هذا البحث هو ما نصّ عليه ابن مالكٍ بظاهر كلام سيبويه، فجاء البحث على قسمين:

أحدهما- المسائل التي أرى أن  فهم ابن مالك قد وافق مقصود سيبويه (فيها).

الثاني- المسائل التي أرى أن فهم ابن مالك قد خالف مقصود سيبويه (فيها).

وقد انتهى البحث إلى موافقة ابن مالكٍ في فهمه كلام سيبويه، في مسائل، ومخالفته فهم كلامه في مسائل أخرى، مع اجتهاده في ذلك.

Abstract

Ibn Malik paid great attention to Sibawayh’s opinions in his books, especially in the one titled:  Sharh At-Tassheel, Ibn Malik’s understanding of Sibawayh’s texts on some issues actually caught my attention, and that he used to oppose some of his predecessors that they did not understand the text of Al-Kitaab correctly, or that they ascribed to Sibawayh what he did not say. Also, the difference of Ibn Malik’s understanding on some of Sibawayh's texts to those of the previous or later scholars caught my attention as well, particularly the commentators of Al-Kitab and the commentators of At-Tasheel.

Therefore, the researcher wanted to contemplate and deeply consider the texts of Sibawayh mentioned by Ibn Malik, and then discuss them in an analytical study, relying on the various texts of Sibawayh himself on the same issue, the views of the scholars on his book, and the opinions of the commentators of the At-Tasheel. The researcher worked attentively to discern the objectives of Sibawayh, and make it clear that Ibn Malik understood them. Consequently, the researcher made this research to rely on what Ibn Malik stated, with the apparent meaning of Sibawayh's words.

The research comes in two parts, as follows:

-          First: the issues on which I deem the understanding of Ibn Malik to be in tandem with the objectives of Sibawayh.

-          Second: The issues on which I deem the understanding of Ibn Malik not in tandem with the objectives of Sibawayh.

The research concluded that Ibn Malik succeeded in understanding the objectives of Sibawayh on some issues; while he misunderstood other issues, despite his persistent efforts.
